Gray, nude, and orange oh my! The majority of Vera Wang’s collection may have been neutral but with pops of orange, metallic, and sheer fabrics, it was everything but ordinary. Pleated sheer fabrics, origami-like shapes and a nude face played to an outer worldly, futuristic feel. Wool pockets adorned the bottoms of sheer tops while high necklines elongated almost every look. Socks with boots are still around this season, tying Vera Wang’s collection together.
A huge fan of juxtaposition myself, I loved Wang’s mix of textures. Light chiffon with heavy wool and fur couldn’t be more perfect together for fall. However, I was not a fan of Wang’s gray stole. It reminded me of a carpet draped over someone’s shoulder as a last-minute attempt to stay warm. Love you Miss Wang but that one didn’t catch my eye.
