Mixing textures defined Chado Ralph Rucci’s F/W 2013 collection. Whether it’s leather and fur, leather and silk, wool and lace, or shine and matte, the combination never looked so good together. Never afraid of color, Rucci’s bright fur coats will surely lift your mood in even the coldest of seasons. An almost cocoon shape, rounded shoulders on jackets and coats make layering even easier to do this season with such a roomy construction.
Black, winter white, and taupe served as the collection’s neutral background colors against the bright lime and purple accents. Thigh high heels in suede and see-through materials are yet another source of added texture. The summer’s popular wrist harness was reincarnated here to include a suede pinkie wrap and tasseled wrist ties. Slick and pulled back hair with stark eye makeup and a nude face complemented the collection.
Stand up collars brought an Asian influence to jackets and dresses, modernized by zippers and covered buttons. Structured seaming created designs all their own, adding detail to simplistic contouring. Touches of sheer fabric lines showed subtle pops of skin while also becoming a defining element to the overall design. A touch of lace and shine brings evening into the picture as the collection comes to a close.
