When Bill Cunningham, a New York Times fashion photographer and legend, is at the event taking photographs, you know it’s not just any kind of event. Between the opening night performance at the Metropolitan Opera to the glitz and glamour of the dresses, the American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala is definitely an event everyone should attend.

The tent was setup near the Metropolitan Opera and guests were treated to a live band, with two dance floors, and a three course dinner. The program included a short 5 minute speech, but most of the evening were spent taking photos, mingling, networking, and plenty of dancing. The early part of the evening featured ballroom dancing with music from the live band, but immediately after dinner, the tent turned into a club scene with a DJ.

Over 1,200 people attended, and the evening raised $1.8 million. Guests included Caroline Kennedy, Christian Siriano, Nigel Barker, Rachel Roy, Fe Fendi, Wendy Williams, Jessica Stam, Prabal Gurung, Zang Toi, and Nate Berkus.

ABT’s Spring Gala was sponsored by GRAFF and VALENTINO.
