This is a staple LBLD – Little Black Leather Dress for night time! Though its lines are simple, it means that it has to fit like a glove, as any imperfection will be seen. I wanted a dress that could be worn with a blazer, for a more demure look, but also make a statement on its own. It also had to be comfortable and supportive which is why I made it in stretch leather lined with silk satin.
This dress is for a confident woman who loves her curves and wants to show them off in a tasteful way, but with a modern edge.
What I love about this look is that from the front, it’s more reserved, but then all of a sudden it has this unexpected twist that shows off a woman’s back, which can be extremely flattering.

SOIREE
As the colour palette for AW13 is dark neutral tones with hints of sparkle and colour, this fabric ties everything together. It has such an interesting soft texture to it. When worn, it looks like liquid.
I wanted to design a dress that could show off a little bit of skin, such as a woman’s collar bone or shoulders. It had to highlight curves, but conceal unflattering lumps. This dress does just that. It first draws your curiosity as you try to figure out what kind of fabric it is, but it also allows you to see a smooth clean silhouette that is extremely flattering.
I love how this dress elongates a woman’s body. You can wear it with a tailored blazer for a more sophisticated look or on its own for after-hour cocktails.

GOMEZ-GRACIA Cutaway Gown ($1,500). Known for our show-stopping evening designs, this Lamé-devore blend gown is a stunning choice for black tie events. The transparent sleeves and daring cutaway waistline add dramatic appeal.
BALL GOWN
This is one of my favourite looks from the AW13 collection. The fabric print, which is retro 60’s, was the starting point of this design. I found it in Paris and instantly fell in love. From there, I designed this gown. The fabric was loud on its own, so the silhouette didn’t have to be. It’s about finding the right balance between a cut and a fabric.
The client who buys this dress loves fashion and is a trendsetter, but she is subtle. She doesn’t want to walk into a room and have everyone stop and stare, she wants to leave the room and be remembered. This gown is perfect for that woman as it’s a classic silhouette, but with modern fabrics. Using lambskin leather for the bodice, transparent panels hinting just the right amount of sensual flesh, and a 60’s inspired print for the skirt, this gown is the latest in black tie dressing.
