Christopher Bailey makes the “strong woman” his focus for Burberry Prorsum’s SS14 collection. Sherbet hues, delicious enough to eat, bring about a certain youthfulness we haven’t regularly seen since the trending of brights and neons. A rosy eye adds a pop of color to an otherwise pale face. Look to focus on one feature this spring like you see here, such as eyes or lips. It’s all about a fresh faced look. Who says you have to be matchy matchy? The best way to wear the color blocking trend this year is all over. A different color in hand and on foot, each shoe and handbag complemented the outfits color in tonal and contrasting hues. Bubble gum with blue and mint was a favorite.

Although the collection had a barely-there appeal to it, thanks to an abundance of lace and sheer fabrics, it felt cozy with soft cardigans and voluminous coats. Such revealing fabric choices also made these traditionally feminine and sophisticated shapes, such as pencil skirts and button-up blouses, become risqué. Pairing casual cottons with sophisticated laces was also a great contrast of styles. Contrasting colors, styles and fabrics — This collection was made on juxtaposition!
