BOSS Black / BOSS Selection F/W 2012
The latest collection by HUGO BOSS lived up to its name, “Modern Luxury”. Hosted at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing, China, they couldn’t have picked a better location for a show inspired by the elegance of urban design. The architecture of the building mimicked the detailing that HUGO BOSS so exquisitely added to the classic pieces in their collection.
A modern, minimalist look, the collection brought attitude thanks to a range of fabrics, colors, and detail. Wide belts cinching the waist, leather gloves revealing an oh-so-sexy tender part of the wrist, and strappy shoes gave the collection its modern edge. With black and gray as the grounding colors, jewel tones of amethyst and ruby really awakened the runway. Consisting of long gowns, fitted suits, and gorgeous shirts, the collection was full of black tie and cocktail ready apparel. Looks from the luxury menswear brand BOSS Selection were also showcased. The collection was kept to neutral shades of camel and gray, with laidback looks, and simple, yet tailored suiting.
I found the color pallete to be wonderfully thought out. Jewel tones look nothing short of amazing when surounded by stark black and white. I am pleased to see a look of modern sophistication that’s polished by a pair of sheer black hose. It creates a flawless finish on the leg and looks more evening than simply matching your skin tone.
The fashion show was attended by 1,500 guests, including national and international stars such as Oscar winner, Tilda Swinton, actors Ryan Philippe and Matthew Goode, and the models and it-girls Georgia May Jagger and China Chow. Also, Chow Yun-Fat was announced as the first major protagonist of the new BOSS Selection advertising campaign on the Asian market.
