BCBGMAXAZRIA goes urban with this season’s Fall/Winter collection. Mosaic-like prints add femininity to an otherwise tough collection. Full of black and other neutral shades, these bold patterns here and there kept the overall look chic. The flow of silk slip dresses was a wonderful juxtaposition to the sturdy coats they were worn with. It wouldn’t be a coat this season if it wasn’t trimmed in fur. The most luxurious of them all being a burgundy leather bomber.
One things for sure, the ski cap is in. Make this the topper of choice to urbanize luxurious furs or stay in keeping with tough leather jackets and long, grungy coats. Pencil straight hair keeps each look from appearing overdone and fussy. The look is simple and effortless. Leather leg warmers, almost passing for knee high boots, could have been confused as spats had they not have stopped at the ankle. Such a great alternative to the 80’s knit version when it comes to warmth — or boots when it comes to showing some skin in heavy, covered, winter looks. Although longer layers and a heavy look kept the collection from looking too polished, BCBG’s FW13 collection still managed to be the easy-to-wear, youthful line we all know and love.
