Immediately after the Akris fashion show, the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France turned into a cocktail prolongé, celebrating the 90 year anniversary of Akris. To further mark the anniversary, Assouline Publishing created and presented a cloth bound, hardcover book entitled, Akris 1922-2012, with its pages devoted to the work of designer Albert Kriemler. Valerie Steele, art historian, curator, and director of the Museum of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology in New York served as the author.
Her Serene Highness Princess Charlène of Monaco attended the Spring Summer 2013 Akris défilé on Sunday, September 30, 2012. The collection was inspired by the Brazilian landscape architect and painter Roberto Burle Marx and shown before the backdrop of a Burle Marx inspired tropical garden.
