GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Text by Ryan Charchian.

Worldwide thriller, phenomenon, dark, and mysterious. These are just a few adjectives used I would use to describe The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the highly anticipated book-turned movie. The vibe of the movie is translated into the clothing exceptionally well, making these pieces ideal for those who want to add an edge to their wardrobe. How so? H&M, the worldwide mega, fast-fashion brand, is launching a collaboration with the film’s costume designer Trish Summerville.

The collection is designed to have a dark urban feel and to be anti-heroine. According to costume designer, Trish Summerville:

“Salander’s look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armour to shield her from the world. I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I’m pleased with the result! My goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style.”

The 30 piece collection is to arrive at only 100 H&M stores worldwide which hugely less than the amount H&M launched the Versace for H&M Collaboration.
