Just like the classic English nursery rhyme Here we go around the Mulberry Bush, Washington D.C.’s notable trendsetters with philanthropic hearts did exactly that at the Mulberry Boutique in Tyson’s Galleria on Wednesday night. The special invitation from Mulberry Boutique and The Board of Visitors Children’s National Medical Center allowed guests to discover Mulberry’s Autumn Winter 2013 Collection while sipping champagne and British inspired cocktails. A percentage of the proceeds benefited the Care For Kids program.

While supporting Care For Kids, guests browsed Mulberry’s stunning natural leather products, close fitting British tweeds, leather jackets and sculpted pleaded skirts. I personally loved the red leather skater skirt paired with the cropped flared trousers and leather jacket. The line offered a combination of British cheekiness without forgoing the brand’s celebrated sophistication and English heritage. And let’s not forget about the bags — the exquisite handcrafted masterpieces that adorned the shelves of the boutique — this season in rich natural hues like cobalt blue, slate and regal red. I fell in love with the chocolate colored over-sized leather bag with the detachable clutch — a must have companion for any busy Washingtonian woman. The exceptional collection allows one to escape to the countryside with an understated elegance and luxurious appeal.

Johanan Merino, Director of Marketing and Kirsty Welch, Tyson’s Galleria store manager were personally onsite to welcome guests as they experienced the festive evening while mingling amongst one another. Mulberry’s flagship store is based in Somerset, England but you can find their boutiques in international cities worldwide. Mulberry is a brand inspired by the cool of the city and the craft of the countryside and it is the blending of these exceptional qualities that makes Mulberry a classic statement piece for people all over the world as well as a permanent compliment for one with discerning taste.
