This season, Christian Siriano continues his exploration of textures, layering, and silhouettes with this spectacular one shoulder cocktail gown. The primary layer is a beautiful one shoulder black textured sheath that falls above the knee. This has been layered with a dramatic sheer black multitiered confection. The contrast between the two layers creates the effect of fluidity dancing on structure. The interplay of the fabrics and the contrasting silhouettes is truly stunning and is a wonderful representation of Christian’s truly innovative design vision.
This piece is another example of Christian’s unique vision. He has created an architecturally tailored leather jacket, the details on the front as seen here are quite stunning; and has paired the jacket with a fitted to the knee black skirt. Then, what he has done to make this jacket truly his own is the design detail of the sleeves. You will notice the crisp and incredibly well tailored leather body of the jacket has been paired with dramatic fur sleeves that end in leather by the wrist. Christian excels in the interplay of contrasting materials and the combination of the fur with the structured jacket is truly fabulous.
