It seemed like a futuristic approach to the 30s-40s, where models wearing time-traveller goggles, arrived to present 50 shades of brown. Black and grey make guest appearances, enhancing the appeal of the brown. Chunky cable knit sweaters and houndstooth pattern jackets remain on my retina. In the second half of the show, black and grey are taking over, returning to more classic Cerruti roots with straight lines and less obvious experimentation with garment layering. The focus is indeed on brown, black and grey, the shades of which are said to be inspired by an old photograph. The designer Aldo Maria Camillo described the collection using notions such as ”calculated yet crucial mistakes”, probably referring to the play with proportions and over-sizing. I suggest you take a look and see also if there is ”imperfect perfection”. The show took place in Paris on Jan 17, 2014.
