BACKSTAGE AT CARLOS MIELE
Written by Lais Lacher.
Backstage at Carlos Miele’s Spring 2013 fashion show was buzzing with excitement. Everywhere you went you could hear Miele’s native language of Portuguese being spoken. In demand Brazilian supermodel Lais Ribeiro was simultaneously getting her hair, makeup and nails done while we chatted with other Brazilian model Isabella Melo.
I also spoke with the head makeup artist Gato, who is Maybelline’s official makeup artist in Spain, about the look he wanted to create. “We wanted to achieve a summery very healthy look with the models’ makeup. We applied a little stroke of bronze color onto the lid and a subtle bit of mascara to respect the natural movement of the lashes. We then added an orange stroke on the cheekbone to achieve this healthy look and we finish with a red lipstick color that suits all of the girls.”
Models Kelly Bensimon and Erin Wasson were backstage getting a close up look on the collection as well as singer Paula Abdul, who also shares Miele’s Brazilian heritage.
