The new uniforms mark the joint efforts of Virgin America and Banana Republic to elevate the style quotient of everyday workwear. Virgin America enlisted retail industry leader Banana Republic to design modern and sophisticated uniforms that maintain both style and functionality while reinventing the in-flight experience of the golden age of air travel.

The new “utility chic” uniform collection combines modern design with the practical needs of the airline’s pilots, in-flight teammates, and guest service teams, in a style translated through the Banana Republic lens. The new uniforms needed to be modern, clean, and sleek in keeping with the Virgin America brand and cabin design, but also adaptable to the unique work needs of Virgin America’s teammates – incorporating features like performance fabric for long travel days, stretch and extra room to meet the demands of the airport and aircraft environments, and a variety of pieces for weather conditions all over the country. Banana Republic translated the following features into their sophisticated workwear design to meet the practical utility needs expressed by Virgin America.

To coincide with the Virgin America uniform launch and five year anniversary on August 8, 2012, Banana Republic will debut a special Fall Collection inspired by travel and style on-the-go – available to shoppers at Banana Republic stores nationwide beginning August 7, 2012.
